What papers are filed, and in what order in a dissolution of marraige california, Does a proposal come before Discovery. Is there an order followed ,what's the procedure

In my opinion, such a "how to is beyond the scope of what we attorneys should provide in this forum.

I will tell you that a divorce is started by filing a petition for dissolution of marriage with attendant required forms. You then must "serve" the other spouse with those documents. No sooner than 20 days after you accomplish that, you may commence discovery. You can make a proposal whenever you want, however, your proposal cannot be accepted and made binding upon your spouse without a legal action being pending and financial disclosures having been made by each spouse to the other.
