Legal Question in Family Law in California

dissolution

I am filing for dissolution and I am ending a 10 year marriage. I was diagnosed with stage four cancer 2-years ago at which time my husband referred to me as his ex-wife after my diagnosis. I believe that he is re-married at this time. What paper-work do I need to file. There is nothing to divide.

Re: dissolution

It would be a bigamous marriage if your husband remarried prior to a divorce from you. You should consult with the family law self help clinic in your local court house they can help you with the petition and self filings. Additionally there are books at the library on do it yourself divorce.

As always please consult an attorney prior to taking any legal action. Good luck.
