Legal Question in Family Law in California

Distance between parents residence

In our custody order the receiving parent is supposed to pick-up the child. The non-custodial parent has moved 30 miles/30 min+ away. Their workplace is 4 miles from the pick up point where the child is retreived for visitation. Am I to accept this distance as reasonable? I have requested a 1/2 way meeting point but knowing him and how un-cooperative he is/has been he will not-comply. Do I have any options?

Re: Distance between parents residence

it might be best to work it out with him. you can file an osc, and the court might order him to meet you half way, but that won't solve the probkem.

You might file an osc to change the exchange order. Ask for the exchange to be close to your residence. He moved, why should that change your life. If you ask for less you will get less. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
