Legal Question in Family Law in California

Division of Property

My husband and I separated in August 2005. At this time we refinanced our home and paid all of our bills off. I stayed with the house and have been making payments on it ever since. I am now ready to submit divorce paperwork but I have one question. 1) Will I be given credit for the payments that I have been making on the house? He has been paying me child support however he has not paid me anything for the house. 2) As far as income taxes did I owe him half of the property taxes when he has not paid at all? 3) Our visitation is verbally agreed at this: he sees our daughter every other weekend and one day per week. I have claimed her on my income taxes for both 2005 and 2006, he has not said anything regarding this. Was I legally entitled to do this since I have over 80% custody of her? I had not consulted with a lawyer so I did not know for sure.

Re: Division of Property

You should consult an attorney now. It would appear that there is a substantial amount of money involved.
