Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce agreement

My ex-wife & I divorced in '05. During the sale of our house, the judge ordered that $20,000.00 be held in trust by my (now former) attorney for both parties to use later in settling any claims for reimbursement of various expenses against the other. My ex and I have agreed amongst ourselves to now just split this fund in half. However, my former attorney wont release the funds unless there is a signed stipulated agreement and order approving from the judge. Neither my ex nor I want to incur an attorneys cost in doing what seems to be simple(?). Weve agreed on the language of our agreement, I just dont know what form (FL-form#?) to use, and how do I get the judge to approve it? Can I just go to the judges courtroom and ask the clerk?
