Legal Question in Family Law in California
divorce assets
After returning the signed divorce papers to my ex's lawyer I found out that my ex had withheld putting his 401K on the assets and had liquidated it during the seperation after the divorce had been started. It was more than the restof the marital assets combined, do I have any right to that and how would I go about doing that? Is there a form I can fill out and submit to the court?

Re: divorce assets
In a general sense, the Court has continuing jurisdiction over unadjudicated or undisclosed assets (F.C. 2556).
For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!

Re: divorce assets
You should take action quickly as the time for action is limited. The failure to list an asset subjects an individual to potential sanctions for the failure. The problem you face may be in collecting any money awarded to you.
