Depending on the stage of the divorce you are at, it might not be a good idea to start removing names or changing title yet. You should make sure that the entire property interests and rights have been divided first before the title changes hands. In every filing for divorce, an automatic restrainign order goes into place which restrains the parties from changing title and liquidating accounts. The purpose of this is to place a freeze on the activity until the interests can be sorted out. You should check with your local family law facilitator's office to see if it would be adviseable to do so at this time.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
