Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce with child not own.

I plan on filing for divorce on my own since it will be uncontested. The only thing that makes me question whether or not I'll need a lawyer, is that my wife recently got pregnant. We've been seperate so it's obviously not mine, but will this child need to be accounted for in any of my forms when filing? Can I simply file as if the child didn't exist since it isn't mine?

Re: Divorce with child not own.

That depends upon how long between your separation and the birth of the child. There are presumptions that could apply. You are better off with an attorney. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
