Does it cost any more or are there any different guidelines to follow to obtain a divorce-no children, no property from a military person, who is currently in Japan for another 3 years

I believe that federal law provides protection of members of the military when they are sued while on active duty. If he objects you may be required to wait for him to return. Contact his and ask if he will agree to the divorce. If he agrees, then get that agreement in writing. Since your husband is in the military you should be able talk to a military attorney regarding the requirements to proceed with the divorce.
