Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce

I have a court document that states my ex agrees to pay for all community debts. He has never paid on any of the obligations.I began making payments after I received numerous garnishment threats from collection agencies.I was recently informed that because I had a court document that stated my ex's responsibility, to send all the creditors the court document & necessary inf. to make him pay. One of the creditors says that the court document is not legal, demanded full payment & sent a letter threatening to take me to court. Is what I have legal & what can I do about this creditor or any others that may come back & say the same thing?

Re: Divorce

The court order is between you and you ex and does not apply to third party creditors. However, if your ex was ordered to pay and did not that would subject your ex to possible contempt of court action.
