Legal Question in Family Law in California

My divorce decree states that I pay alimony until my birthday-July 17. Can I pay only 17 days worth of the monthly payment? or do I have to pay the full month? This is not child support, just straight alimony.

Thanks in advance.

You pay the whole thing. It is not prorated per day unless the court order states otherwise. Once you reach the date, your obligation will terminate. To be on the safe side, you should have an attorney review the actual language of the decree that provides for termination.
