Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce dissolution

My wife filed for divorce in california, I live in atlanta. I was never notified of any divorce proceedings. She then sent me the copies of the dissolution after it was granted due to default. apparently she lead the courts to believe she had no knowledge of my whereabouts, which in fact she did. would this be considered perjury? and do I have any recourse? In fact we spoke two weeks before I received the papers, but did not mention it.

Re: Divorce dissolution

The first question is will you obtain any advantage from setting aside the judgment. If she received property, custody of children etc, then you need to evaluate the emotional, and financial costs of proceeding to set aside the judgment and the gain from this action.

You should consult with an attorney in California to review the advantages and the disadvantages of attacking the judgment.
