Legal Question in Family Law in California

After divorce

I was divorced 3 years ago - amlicable.

Recently had to go to court so state funds for our 2 adopted children would be split 50/50 - this was agreed upon in inital divorce papers- which he refused to follow for 3 years.

I also had restraining order against him for assault - he called and apologized and then wrote me a letter stating that if I removed the order he would pay part of my atty fees $1000.00. (So i did).

Because we make the same amount of money this could not be put in court motion. I asked when he was going to pay me the money he said he does not have to.

Is his letter binding or do I have to go back to court?

Isn't he suppose to have state money sent to me directly (change payee for 1 child - the one i claim on taxes)- instead of him writing me a check when ever he wants.

.

I am not sure if I should get another atty or if i could handle this myself?

Thank you for your time.

Re: After divorce

Sounds like you reached an agreement, the letter my hold up, try to enforce it through small claims court.
