Legal Question in Family Law in California
divorce
Going through a divorce-not by choice. Help put husband through law school and after he took the bar and was hired by a firm, he left me. We were only married 3 years. We married prior to him starting law school. Recently, I found out he was seeing an attorney at the firm at which he was working at.
My question is - how should I approach this or handle this to my advantage and can I sue the girlfriend attorney and firm for contributing to the break-up of my marriage?

Re: divorce
Calif does not allow a lawsuit for the break up of a marriage but the fact that you put him through school is a factor in your favor on support.

Re: divorce
You cannot sue for alienation of affection in this state. You have no damage claim against the girlfriend or him for their affair, unless he was giving her community property in the form of gifts. You may be entitled to reimbursement for the cost of his law school tuition.
