Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce

I am trying to file for my own divorce. I filled out paperwork on ezlegalfile and saw that paperwork I'm supposed to send Mr.--name removed--has my address on it. I don't want him to have it. I have not heard nor seen him since June 1994. I'm not even sure where to find him. I've heard something about placing an ad in the paper instead of serving him with papers. How does that work?

Thank you.
