Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce filing expire?

I filed for divorce in 2007, and the last form submitted to court was in 12/2007 (service of declaration of preliminary disclosure). Nothing has been done since then, but I am now ready to continue the divorce proceedings. Has my petition for divorce expired since it's been more than 1 year? Or do I just continue where I left off? Thank you.

Re: Divorce filing expire?

Depends on what county you are in. Most of the time, just finish it now, no problem. Some courts set case management/status conferences and if the case doesn't move along, they will dismiss it. In LA County, check online using your case number at family law, case summaries: www.lasuperiorcourt.org
