Divorce Filipina Wife

Hi, I hold an H1b Visa and would like to marry my high school sweetheart who is a US Citizen and lives here in California. I have been separated with my ex-wife for 9 yrs before coming here in the US but I am still legally married to her. My question is, how can I divorce my filipina wife to marry my US citizen fiance? Do I really need to hire a lawyer or can I file it myself? Thank you so much in advance.

You can do it yourself. File a petition for dissolution of marriage.
