Legal Question in Family Law in California
My divorce was final on August 14, 2015, I initially was the petitioner, after my ex responded, 3 years after I filed. I thought it was over and done with. I was wrong. so I they became the respondent and he the petitioner, long story short he claimed he didn't know where I was so after the 2nd hearing he remembered that I live only 2 doors before his house. I was in court for the last hearing the judge granted the divorce, I'm good with that, but she also struck the child custody that I had initially asked for. So I panicked and filed for child custody of our 12 year old son, had mediation hearing today, mediator recommending joint custody, I do not want this. My ex has a drug habit, which I did not tell the mediator about, his girlfriend throws him out of her house whenever they argue. My son has been with my since we separated 5 years ago. I am desperate, and have a hearing in front of a judge on November 6, 2010.

Your situation deserves the attention of an experienced family law attorney. Dealing with these complex child custody issues self represented usually produces terrible results.
