Legal Question in Family Law in California

My divorce has been final for awhile. In the judgement my ex is supposed to pay me $20,534.00 plus part of my attorney fees. He has never paid a cent. I asked how to recover the money and was told that I need to file a request for an order and contempt of court. Is that accurate? Also are those complicated forms? Can I do them on my own?

Yes, a request for an order of contempt of court. However, just a little more information is needed: how long ago was the judgement and what is "been for a while". Thanks. Give me a timeframe and I will see what I can do for you. Thanks!!!

P.S. All the forms can be complicated. They are convoluted just like any government or court forms. However, we here at LawGuru can help. Give me a time frame though to see what we are dealing with. Thanks, and looking forward to your reply.
