Legal Question in Family Law in California
Divorce
I have a final judgement next week. My wife has had an attorney and I have signed papers at his office for the divorce. My wife has since starting dateing a ex-con who was convicted of a violent act. I have a girlfriend who lives with me so this is not anything other then wanting to know what my legal rights are conserning my son who lives with her and I only have vistation. Is it to late to change my custudy, child support, and can I stop this ex-con from being around my son? Please note she was put on the papers as sole parent but it also states legal joint. I was put down as paying 15% of my pay and paying full medical. after rent utilites and gas are payed I have $150.00 for food and anything else for the month. My wife makes more then me is this fair? Once agian I have signed the papers but We go before the judge in one week is it to late?

Re: Divorce
No, it is not too late. You can modify support or custody at any time due to changed circumstances, even after a judgment is entered. You can probably change other parts of the judgment as well, if you want to. The sooner you act, the more likely it is you are going to get the changes you want.
