Legal Question in Family Law in California
divorce was finalized in 2013. We met with paralegal to prepare divorce agreement and within the agreement I was to receive $25000 deferred comp plan. This agreement was given to court. After divorce ex spouse stated he didn't know how to transfer his deferred comp to me. Later said I needed to have a 401k to have it transferred to. When I got a job with a 401k he continued to drag his feet with the transfer. I requested court documents so I could go after him through the courts and discovered the deferred compensation was left out of the final divorce agreement. They do have the paralegal agreement on file. Ex spouse said not to worry about it, he would take care of it. Asked him yesterday about it and received response text of - "what deferred comp", "I will check the court agreement" . He is denying we had an agreement.
How do I fix this? Can I reopen the case?
I'm very let down- left him the house, all of its contents and was not going after his LACERS retirement.

Paralegals are excellent agentsvto assist a person in preparing the legal documents for a very simple divorce. Unfortunately, from the explanations found in your question, your divorce is far from simple.
What you really need to do is to meet with an experienced family law attorney in an office consultation and review In that meeting the document that was ordered by the court on property division to ascertain whether or not there are omitted assets or other issues that would justify a return to court on a request for order.
