Legal Question in Family Law in California
I have gone through a divorce, which has been finalized. The problem is that I never responded to the filing and now I want to get the child support order modified. I just need to know what forms I need to file in response to the divorce that I did not contest.

In regards to responding to the divorce, this may be a complicated issue for you to handle alone. You may need the advice of an attorney to assist you. If the divorce was finalized there should be a judgment filed and entered with the court. Your default was most likely taken if you did not respond. This judgment and the default against you must be set aside before you are allowed to file a response. If the divorce was finalized less than six months ago you may be able to set the judgment and the default aside based on certain factors. In the event that there is some type of fraud you may have more time to set aside the judgment and default against you. An attorney would most likely need to review your specific circumstances in detail and then advise you further after reviewing the paperwork as well.
Best of Luck.
