divorce

im a homemaker with 5 children.my husband and i have been arguing for sometime.i havent been happy i dont know what to do he says i dont get anything.what do i do?

Assuming that you do not have a pre-marital agreement, in California each spouse is entitled to one half the community property which generally means the property acquired during the marriage regardless of the name on title. This includes the equity in the house, the value of retirement plans, cars, etc. Seek the advice of an attorney who can help you figure out what the community owns and what you can do. Do not take legal advice from your husband even if he is an attorney.

Also, a custodial parent is entitled to child support and the lower income earner or no income spouse may be entitled to spousal support. Get to an attorney and have the support calculations done.

and attorney fees. The court has the power to award attorney fees as well.
