Legal Question in Family Law in California

I want a divorce. My husband controls the money and won't let me have any to move out or hire a lawyer. He says I have to stay or give everything up. What do I do?

I agree with Ms. Kock. A competent family law attorney can give you a free initial consultation, and structure a divorce to assist you.

Both prior answers are correct. A competent Family Law attorney can obtain emergency orders for support and payment of fees in a matter of a few days at most. You also do not have to move out before you file. In fact you may not have to move out at all. You may be able to force him to, depending on the total picture of your household and marriage.
