Legal Question in Family Law in California

divorce

My husband joined the Navy and is stationed at great lakes, Il. We have had nothing but problems and in feb. he got sick and had to be hospitalized. He didn't want the kids there so I could stay with him in the hosp. so I sent them back to cali. with my family. I have left him and flew back yesterday. He called my mother today and left a message that he was filing papers to have me charged with felony Kidnapping. He has tried suicide and was returned to the barracks so he smashed the windows out of my grandmothers car. He is calling and harassing my mother and my grandmother. Do I have any recourse?

Re: divorce

Call the Navy and report this conduct to his commanding officer. Notify his commanding officer that if he does not cease harassing you and your family a domestic violence restraining order will be obtained from the California Court. Then file a petition for dissolution of marriage and have him served. His threats about kidnapping charges are just that.
