Legal Question in Family Law in California

My husband left our home 3 months ago, and I know that he is having an affair. I get Disability from the state 1x mo. He was the bread winner. We do not own any real estate, however we have some art of value. Would he be obligated to pay me alimony if I chose to file? It's noy something I want to do, but at this point don't speak, due to his choice, not mine.
