Divorce info

I want to buy income property. I jus filed for divorce and are in the 6 month waiting period. Is my investment safe if I buy property now before the divorce is final?

You will probably need to obtain a quitclaim deed from your spouse or a court order stating that it is your separate property. There are also some automatic restraining orders that may apply to the purchase. If you cannot get a quitclaim deed then you will need to consult with a family law attorney. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
