Divorce

I live in California, my husband lives in Salt Lake City. We have 1 minor living at home. It it better for me to file my divorce in Califonia or in Utah?

It is better to file in California since that is where the child is living. However, whether California has jursidiction to make support orders is a question. Talk to a family law attorney who can ask the right questions concerning the court's jurisdiction. California does have jurisdiction over the child custody and to dissolve the marriage. You may have to file in two states to get all appropriate orders and judgments. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
