Legal Question in Family Law in California
Divorce?
I married someone is August of 2002. He was in the Navy. He took off the day after and I never heard from him again. What papers do I need to file? Is this divorce or annulment? How do I go about doing this in San Diego, CA, which is also where we married in the first place. It was a private marriage.

Re: Divorce?
You could probably get either a divorce or an annulment. When you file ask for a annulment based upon fraud. (He represented that he would be your husband and share a life together and his actions show that he had other intentions.) You should also mard the boxes on the form for a dissolution the put after each box "in the alternative". That way of the judge does not grant the annulment he can grant the dissolution and you won't have to start all over again. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
Re: Divorce?
It sounds like a divorce. It should take place in your county.
