Legal Question in Family Law in California

divorce

I have been married for 10 years with 2 kids. I own a home, but he reliquished rights to the house. It turns out that our marriage certificate is not registered in California or in the state of Nevada we got married. I want a divorce. How do I go about this because we were never really legally married, but I have been claiming married on our taxes. Can you pls give me some advice. Thanks

From the facts you have given you would be a putative spouse. That means you would be treated as though you were married, at least to the time you learned that the marriage was not valid. You need to consult with an experienced attorney.
