Legal Question in Family Law in California

trying to divorce a missing husband

My ex-husband started divoce about 8 years ago and never finished it. Now I am trying to find him. I have all copies of the divorce. Now where do I go from here? I filed an at-issue and never got the letter of the court date. Can I set another at issue? So I am left to finish this by myself. Help!

Yes it sounds like you do need to finish this by yourself, or with the help of an attorney. Every case must come to trial withing 5 years or it will be dismissed, unless there is a support order or a few other limited cases. Call the court and ask the records department the status of the case. You may have to start over. He can be served by publication if you cannot find him. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
