Legal Question in Family Law in California

divorce and real estate

I co-own a house with my mother, her name is on title as well. My wife and i are close to divorcing and i was wondering how that would affect the ownership of my house. My mother and i owned the house before my marriage. What would my wife be entitled to regarding the equity in my house considering she is not on title and I am not the sole owner of the home?

Re: divorce and real estate

if you owned it prior to marriage and you did not use community funds to pay the mortgage, then your wife would likely have no interests in the property because the community would have no interest in the property.
