Legal Question in Family Law in California

Do it Myself - Divorce

When having respondant served with divorce papers, do they have to be directly served to the respondant ONLY? Can the papers be left with anyone at the address? Can some of the forms be printed and some typed? When initaially filing divorce papers Do I need to print out more than one copy of all papers?
