Legal Question in Family Law in California
Divorce
I have been separated from my husband since 1989. We have no plans to stay married. My son just turned 18 and there is no community property.I was told I may be able to get pension or alimony even though we were only physically together for 4 months. I just want to get the divorce finalized as simply and cheaply as possible. What is your suggestion?

Re: Divorce
Find an attorney willing to consult with you for one hour--you will likely have to pay for that time. During that hour he or she should be able to help you with a strategy going forward.
