Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce settlement period

I was married for 19 years and separated (not legally)for 16 later years. Does it still take minimum 6 month in California to get a divorce judgement even though I was not with him for later 16 year? I don't have any knowledge where he lives. What if he was not in U.S. for later 16 years? Does it still take minimum 6 months to get judgement?

Re: Divorce settlement period

You still have the six month waiting period before the marriage can be disolved. You can serve him by publication. Your local facilitator's office can help you or you can hire an attorney who will know how to handle the publication notice. You may wish to do a search using an internet private investigator.
