Divorce Settlements

Can a man begin making payments for a divorce settlement before the divorce is final or after a legal separation. My boyfriend is telling me has to wait until may to get a divorce because he filed 2 years ago in May and won't be obligated to her for anything after the two years. Is this true?

sounds pretty goofy to me. Why dont you go down to the courthouse and look through the court file yourself.
