Divorce

My spouse is divorce decree says that he is to pay is ex-wife $100 per month. Does this ends with his marriage to me or is he compeled to continue with the payments.

I am assuming your husband's decree reads the same as most. His obligation to pay does not end until SHE gets married (or lives with a boyfriend). It doesn't matter if your husband marries you, he will still have to pay. If you think of it in a sort of old-fashioned way, he has to support her until someone else comes along to take care of her.

A spousal support order lasts until the obligee spouse gets remarried or cohabitates with another person of the opposite sex, or the payor dies. The order may also terminate on its own under the original orders.
