Divorce in state prison

I want to know what how can I divorce my husband while he is in state prison? Where can I get help? Without costing me a lot of money. We have been married less than a year.

The process is the same as it would be if he were not in prison. File a petition for dissolution of marriage and have a summons issued. The prison facility where he is housed should serve him with the petition and sign a proof of service for you.

The petition can be filed in the county where you live.

Many courts have family law clinics to help individuals that are not represented by an attorney.
