There are several limitations periods depending on the reason: 1. A judgment entered in your absence due to excusable neglect--6 months after entry of judgment; 2. A judgment entered based upon fraudulent representations of assets--2 years; 3. A judgment entered that you did not know about and based upon a false proof of service--an equitable amount of time.

The action can be re-opened at any time prior to it being dismissed by the parties or by the judge. The judges will often dismiss a case where there has been no activity. Review your file at the court clerks office to see if it has been dismissed. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
