Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce: Stop the Postponement Process

My mother in law is getting divorced. The original judge did not like the divorce agreement. He felt the husband was not giving enough funds to the mother in law. So the judge gave him a couple of months to come back and finalize the new agreement. Since then they have asked for continuances and or postponements saying they are not ready yet. In the meantime my mother in law is distraught. Can they postpone forever? Should my mother in law's laywer be doing something?I need direction and guidance.

Re: Divorce: Stop the Postponement Process

If the case is not proceeding as you think it should discuss the matter with the attorney. If that discussion leaves doubts in your mind that consult with another attorney to get a second opinion.
