Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce & Visits from Spouce

My Atty has not made contact with me since mid-October after my spouse was serve notice of divorce & his Atty responded saying he did not want it. After discussing w/my Atty that I wanted to proceed w/the divorce he said that he would take my spouse's request off the table and file some type of issuance & would set up a mtg in a week. Since that time my husband put down money for property out-of-state. He's been married over 4xs and this is my 1st. I'm trying to make this a friendly divorce & need to find out when we go out to dinner & he stays over (no love making) is this something that will interfere with the divorce? My Atty. has not responded to my questions since October & I have made contact thru faxes, hand delivery of corres & phone calls. I paid him a retainer of $1500.. Please help..

It is always a bad sign when an attorney does not return your telephone calls. This is not an acceptable practice as the attorney works for you, not the other way around! You need representation by an attorney that understands and is responsive to your needs and issues.

I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!

if you feel your current attorney is non-responsive or is not zealously advocating your dissolution of marriage interests here, you should strongly consider replacing he or she and discussing in full detail your case fact with your new legal representative. if you would like a free phone consultation regarding these matters, email us directly with your contact information today.
