Legal Question in Family Law in California
I got a divorce in WA, now my X and I both live in CA, I want to reopen the case, can this be done in CA?
I want to reopen the case or file a motion to modify the amount of money that he pays me because he is earning more now than he was showing at the time of the divorce. Thank you, Lee

You would have to start in WA and ask the court there to request CA accept a transfer of jurisdiction, then you would have to apply to CA to accept it. If you have kids, it would nearly automatically be granted. If not, it is far less certain; it might just be easier to request the modification in WA.
