Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce in washington, to a calif resident /w miner child

I was married In San Diego Calif and had a child there. We have been seperated (not legaly) for three years. I'am a legal resident of the state of Washington an currently reside there. My spouse and minor child are residents and currently reside in San Diego Calif. Can I file for a divorce in washington? or do I have to file in Calif? What options do I have? If I have to file in california, do I need to be present or can I appoint a legal representitive? on my behalf. Thanks for your time.

Jurisdiction is in San Diego as child custody, visitation, or child support are issues. You need not appear if you are represented. Call me directly at (619) 222-3504.

You could get a divorce in Washington, but the Washinton Courts would not have jurisdiction to address property issues outside of Washington, child custody (because the children are located outside of Washington), or child support (same problem). You should approach an attorney in California to assist you on this matter.
