Legal Question in Family Law in California

divorce

Less than 4 years ago my husband

was given $12,000 from his parents

right after we were married, which

was then put into our joint account

and then used as a down payment

on the house within a few weeks.

Does he get that money back when

we divorce and either sell the house

or if he buys me out or is it now

community property and split

evenly?

Probably he has a right to reimbursement of the $12,000. However, more facts are need to give a good answer and the only right answer will be given by the judge. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
