Legal Question in Family Law in California

I want to be divorced

Been in a custody battle for 14 months. Its finally coming to an end for the custody. We are still at step one for the divorce. How can I ask for the divorce status in court on this wed? Can I ask the judge to grant us the divorce status in court? Will I need to file before getting the divorce status or can it be done orally? She is the petitioner. I did file a response stating reconcilation and do not wish to do so. I would like to reserve the right for the division of property and take care of that as soon as posible. She had done a prelimnary assets and debits. I have still yet to do one. How do I get this to end since there are no other court hearings on calendar?

You can accomplish this if both sides agree. Otherwise, you need to file a motion to bifurcate status.

I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!
