Legal Question in Family Law in California
I was divorced in Florida but moved to California soon after. I was paying $638 a month for child support but I lost one of my jobs. Do I have to go back to Florida to change the paperwork, so that i can pay a lower amount? Or can I do the paperwork, here in California?

The first step you should take is to consult an attorney in California to determine how much child support would be using California formula and the contact an attorney in Florida to determine the amount of child support. Then select the state in which the support is the lowest and proceed that state. To proceed in California you would have to register the Florida child support order and then file a motion to modify child support.
