Legal Question in Family Law in California
I divorced my husband Jan 2004. At the time he lived in Australia, and I lived in California. Now, I found him back in Missouri, USA. The divorce decree indicated shared federal and state taxes be paid by me and total reimbursement to be paid to me. I haven't seen one cent from him. Since I'm still paying on this debt (and if necessary, can arrange a lump sum to pay off debts), how can I get him to pay me back now that I've found out where he works?

A review of the paperwork from the dissolution would be required to answer your question.

You are going to have to have the California divorce judgment entered as a sister-state judgment in Missouri, under Missouri's laws for that purpose, and then it will have to be enforced in Missouri, under Missouri law governing enforcement of judgments. In other words, you need a Missouri lawyer involved.
