Legal Question in Family Law in California

Am I divorced yet?

I was married in El Dorado County California. My wife and I have not been in contact in a little over 5 years and I have no knowledge of her present whereabouts or status in the world at large. I was wondering if there was any way I would be able to do a general inquiry to the state of California to see if she ever filed for a divorce there. Last I heard from her she was heading to either the San Diego, Riverside, or L.A. area but even that I am not absolutely sure of. I am sure she ended up in California. My results from the inquiry would lent me assistance in deciding if I should file for divorce myself. Also if I get no positive answer to this, would filing for divorce in Virginia cause any problems if there actually IS an existing divorce ruling in California that is unknown to me?

Re: Am I divorced yet?

Getting married twice is bigamy. Getting divorced twice, that's icing on the cake.
