if im divorced and my name is on the ownership paperwork of the vehicle my ex husband has am I allowed to legally take ownership of the vehicle and sell it since he hasn't been paying child support

If the vehicle was given to your ex, then no, you may not simply take possession of it and sell it. You would have to go after his property using the courts and a writ of execution or an order of the court to seize the asset to pay the back support (not likely to be made by the court). Good luck!
