Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorcing abusive husband

My husband was extremely abusive for our entire 5 year marriage. I have absolutely nothing...zero, zilch, no car, no home, no money, no job...he took everything, moved and has a new girlfriend. I need to know how to find a local attorney who is every other attorneys nightmare if they themselves had to go up against him/her. How can I find exactly the right person. My husband is very tricky, a con and a psychopath. Seriously. I will also want to sue him in civil court for the losses he deliberately cost me and my family.

You should ask for recomendations in your area,or call the local bar association for referrals. The only way to determine this is to interview a few and find the one whom you feel most comfortable.

I would caution against overly agressive attorneys as it may backfire and leave you in the hole financially.

As always please consult with a local attorney in your area before making legal decisions.

Good luck!
